Target
The aesthetics unit within LG Chem's Life Sciences division sells the hyaluronic-acid filler Yvoire and skin boosters including VRPharm, Enable and Vitaran; Yvoire has ranked first in filler sales in China. Annual revenue is estimated at about KRW 100bn; the HA plant was excluded from the sale.
Deal rationale
LG Chem disclosed on 7 August 2025 that its board resolved to transfer the aesthetics business to VIG Partners for KRW 200bn (0.42% of consolidated equity), citing 'portfolio adjustment' and a 'portfolio rebalancing' to focus life sciences on oncology drugs. Reports said a first sale attempt failed when sole bidder Hugel offered about KRW 100bn, and VIG submitted the highest bid of KRW 200bn in the re-run. VIG was reported to be building an aesthetics platform following its acquisition of RF device maker Viol.
