Target
S-Traffic's EV charging division (spun off as SS Charger) operates about 1,100 fast chargers, mainly in the Seoul metropolitan area, the largest private fast-charging network, and runs the 'Lucky Pass' subscription.
Deal rationale
SK Networks said it invested to become the No.1 player in the fast-growing EV charging market and secure a new growth engine. Executive Lee Ho-jung cited high market potential and strong fit with the company's capabilities, pointing to synergies with Everon, SK Rent-a-Car's EV conversion plan and Speedmate's service network. SK Networks invested KRW 72.8bn in old shares plus a capital increase for 50.1%, with Anchor Equity Partners taking 29.0%.
