SK enpulse's fine ceramics division makes alumina, silicon, silicon-carbide and quartz-based components for semiconductor and display process equipment, supplying equipment makers and chipmakers. It was renamed Solmics after the acquisition.
Deal rationale
SKC said it would use the proceeds to strengthen its semiconductor materials and parts business. According to Dealsite, Hahn & Co. bought the unit expecting downstream semiconductor and display demand to recover and plans bolt-on acquisitions. eToday reported the deal was the second investment of Hahn & Co.'s fourth fund.
